Situated at the entrance to Paradise Park, and perfect for a family lunch or dinner or evening out listening to live music.
The Victorian building was originally built in 1860 as a stables and coach house for the Harvey Family who lived in Glanmor House at the centre of Paradise Park. Part of the character is that you can still see the structure of the stables inside the pub. The Victorian Coach House was converted in 1976 to the “Bird in Hand” pub.
The Bird in Hand is open!
PLEASE READ – Thank you
We are very keen to see all of our lovely customers back over the coming few weeks. We reopened on Saturday 4th July.
We will be following the government guidelines very closely to look after our staff and customers while you are with us. We have reduced the number of tables inside and given the garden tables more space. This restricts the number of people that can actually be accommodated so we expect these to get filled up quickly – please don’t rely on getting a table in our first few days as we all learn how our new regime works for us.
We will ask everyone to join in and keep the virus at bay – sanitise your hands, sit at a table, sit only with your ‘household group’, order from a member of staff, and keep a distance of 1.5m inside and 2m outside. We have increased our cleaning of surfaces, and will be asking for a phone number for each group as required for NHS Test and Trace.
We have a reduced food menu on offer as we ease back into a flow and will add more soon. Sunday Roasts will be as amazing as they always are and still available for collection.
The kitchen will be open from 4pm till 8pm on Saturday and 12 noon till 6pm on Sunday.
Sorry pool or snooker not allowed for now. We have suspended Sport TV for the time being because it is not cost effective with the distancing rules we have. Our Fantastic Friday promotion will not be running for the moment and we will be closed on Mondays for a few weeks.
There are a lot of changes but if we all consider each other’s safety then we will all have a really enjoyable time in each other’s company.
See you soon!

Review From Google – Tracy
“Love this place exceptional food (the ploughman’s being one of my favourites), great atmosphere, very friendly staff and a lovely garden to sit in when weathers nice. Had a roast today for the first time and it was one of the best I’ve had. I will definitely be a regular in the summer months.”
